Chapter 51: The Beginning of The Change

“Fiona Heilon… it’s really not that bad.”

“What are you doing here?”

Enoch, lost in thought, was startled by the voice and turned his head. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com. There stood Sigren. Enoch had seen Sigren once or twice in informal settings before Sigren was declared the official prince. Of course, in those encounters, Sigren hadn’t been worthy of his attention, so he had mostly ignored him.

But had Sigren overheard what he had just mumbled?

Wait, what if he did hear? He’s just a lucky illegitimate child anyway.

“To speak to your older brother without even saying hello,” Enoch sneered, “I suppose you don’t know the basics because you’re a half-blood.”

“….”

Enoch was stung by the fact that Sigren barely acknowledged him. Sigren looked down at the spot where Enoch’s gaze had lingered, his expression inscrutable.

Enoch, noticing where Sigren was looking, opened his mouth. “Yeah, you said you’re from Heilon too. Then you must know something about her. Tell me about her.”

A cold smile appeared on Sigren’s face, a rare reaction. “I don’t know what you’re asking or why, but…”

Enoch was focused on Fiona, so he couldn’t see Sigren’s face. “Since she’s a pretty girl, I’m thinking of keeping her around for a while. I’ve been bored lately.”

Sigren’s eyes darkened upon hearing those words. He replied in a cold tone, “A pathetic reason not even worthy of an answer.”

“What?” Enoch frowned at Sigren’s unexpected response. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com. Enraged, he grabbed Sigren by the collar. ‘What is this bastard saying to me?

Sigren stared at Enoch, trying to control his impulse to break Enoch’s wrist in response.

Of course, Enoch was oblivious to Sigren’s restraint.

“What kind of cheeky behavior is this? How dare you speak to this Crown Prince like that!”

Enoch then swung his fist at Sigren.

“….!”

However, Sigren caught Enoch’s fist effortlessly. When Enoch tried to pull his hand away, it remained firmly trapped.

Sigren smirked sarcastically as he observed Enoch’s face turning red. “Let’s see you try a little harder, older brother.”

“You! You damn bastard!”

Enoch attempted to pull Sigren by the collar he was still holding, but Sigren remained unmoved. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.

A cynical smile briefly appeared on Sigren’s face before it shifted to a frighteningly cold expression. His blue-grey eyes bore down on Enoch. “Is it my turn now?”

The chilling tone sent shivers down Enoch’s spine.

Sigren grabbed Enoch’s collar and pushed him forward.

“….!”

The force was so overwhelming that Enoch could barely resist. In an instant, his back was pressed against the pillar. Strangled by his collar, Enoch could only make a faint, squeaky sound. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.

“Escort… escort…”

Enoch tried to call for his guards, but his attempt was futile. His throat was constricted, making his voice barely audible. Moreover, the pillar obscured the view, so no one could see what was happening between them.

Sigren leaned in and spoke in a low tone into Enoch’s ear. “Consider this a warning…”

“….”

“I have no interest in your position or even the throne…”

“Uh…uh…”

“There’s only one thing I want in this world…”

His cold voice continued to echo in Enoch’s ear.

“However, if anyone ever tries to harm her…”

Enoch found it increasingly difficult to breathe. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.

“No matter who that person is… or what their position might be…”

Sigren whispered slowly, “I’m going to kill that person in the most painful way, Brother.”

Then he released his grip on Enoch’s collar.

GASP!” Enoch slumped against the pillar before sliding down, gasping for air.

Sigren looked down at him expressionlessly.

“How dare you do this to me, you crazy bastard!” Enoch glared at Sigren, his anger evident as he struggled to catch his breath. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.

“One day, I will surely hang your lowly head on the wall!” Enoch shrieked, hurling threats at Sigren.

Sigren smirked with a cynical sneer. “I look forward to it, Brother.”
