Chapter 106: Boom and Bust (2)
“Sigren, that illegitimate bastard…!”
That kid was the one who brought the knights. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
Sigren broke the iron bars and drew his sword against the writhing monster. It would be dangerous if the creature escaped the cage, so he needed to take care of it first. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
“There! Catch them too!”
Someone shouted, pointing at Enoch and Cruz.
For a moment, Enoch hesitated, considering whether or not to reveal his identity. However, being the crown prince caught at the scene of a raid on an illegal arena was far from ideal. Besides, Sigren was also present.
‘Is this all part of his plan?’
Enoch reached that conclusion, conveniently forgetting that he had come to the illegal arena on his own accord.
“I’ve been played by that lowly illegitimate bastard!”
As Enoch raged, an idea struck him when he saw Sigren fighting the monster.
‘As long as I’m not caught here!’
After all, he was the crown prince. Unless he was apprehended on the spot, no one dared to question him.
Enoch grabbed Cruz by the collar.
“Why are you like this, Your Highness?”
“Give me the key!”
“The… the key?”
“The key to the cages that hold the captured monsters!”
Seeing the fierce determination in Crown Prince Enoch’s eyes, Cruz quickly produced his keyring.
“H-Here it is!”
Enoch snatched the keys and rushed to the back of the arena. The knights pursued him, but the chaos among the audience, with many people fleeing in all directions, hindered their path, allowing Enoch to escape. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
Enoch ran to the place where the monsters were confined. Several creatures were trapped in a massive prison, locked behind solid iron bars. The prison had a separate space for people to open the iron door that led to the arena. Most of the monsters were of intermediate level, but there was also one new species that had recently been captured from the Dead Land. Unlike the mid-level monsters that were thrashing about, this one observed Enoch with its flashing red eyes. It was the creature Enoch had spent a lot of money on, originally intending to use it for the arena’s biggest event. But now, it had to be repurposed.
“You want to be free, right?”
Enoch smiled as he inserted the key into the lock. This was a perfect way to stall for time. Moreover, Sigren was the only one in the arena now. What would happen if he released these monsters in a place like this?
“Go and run!”
There was a hint of madness in the monsters’ eyes.
“Go and eat that bastard!”
Suddenly, the door swung open.

Sigren looked at the monster in front of him with emotionless eyes. The creature that had been rampaging was exhaling harsh breaths, and blood from its wounds soaked the arena floor. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
‘It’s a monster that has gone mad.’
It was undoubtedly much stronger than normal monsters. If it had been accidentally released, there would have been many casualties.
‘Fiona was right to push forward with the operation.’
As soon as Sigren lifted his sword to deliver the final blow, he sensed something approaching. Kiieeeekkk! The monster drew in a heavy breath and let out a piercing shriek. Then, with all its might, it crashed against the iron bars. At that moment, Sigren took a breath.
“Shit.”
The iron bars of the arena, which had barely held, finally collapsed.
“Sigren, watch out!” Fiona exclaimed. At the same time, monsters poured through the passageway connected to the arena.
Sigren glanced at the monster’s corpse and shouted,
“Everyone, get ready for battle!”
The sudden change in circumstances threw the people inside the stadium into chaos. Fiona, who was rather small, was knocked down by the crowd. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
“Fiona!”
Sigren hurriedly rushed to her side.
“Are you okay?”
Fiona got up with his support.
“I’m fine—ah!”
“Are you hurt?”
She glanced down at her foot. It wasn’t sprained; someone had merely kicked it.
“I’m alright. Just go.”
Fiona nudged Sigren. Her ankle was slightly swollen, but it wasn’t a serious injury.
Sigren frowned slightly.
“That won’t do.”
“No, I’m really okay—ah!”
He lifted her up.
Fiona instinctively wrapped her arms around Sigren’s neck. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
“What will you do if your men are in danger?”
“If they can’t handle that much, they should just drop their knighthood.”
Fiona slapped Sigren on the shoulder on behalf of those poor knights, though, of course, it was nothing for him.
“I said I’m fine.”
“It’s me who’s not okay.”
“…”
Fiona sighed and looked around. As Sigren had said, the knights were holding up well. They didn’t seem to be having any trouble capturing the intermediate monsters.
“Rolling on the ground every day is worthwhile…”
However, the new monster was not running wild. It remained cautious, as if trying to assess the situation.
“Isn’t it the same species you killed earlier?”
“Yeah, I think they caught two.”
The monster moved as if its intelligence had increased in its rage. Perhaps because of the atmosphere, Fiona felt as though her eyes met the monster’s gaze. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
And in that moment…
“Ah? Why is it trying to come here?” Fiona grabbed Sigren’s collar in frustration.
The monster suddenly scratched the ground and took a stance as if it were about to charge at any moment.
“It instinctively targeted the weak side.”
“How can you calmly explain that in this situation?!”
‘It’s aiming at me because I’m injured!’
Sigren smiled briefly, seeing Fiona flustered in his arms, then lowered his head and kissed her forehead lightly.
Fiona touched her forehead, feeling even more flustered.
“Hey, how could you do that in this kind of situation?”
“I like to see you panicking.”
Sigren set Fiona down in a place where she could sit. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
“Should I help?”
“Just sit here.”
“I think it’s dangerous.”
“You worry too much.”
Fiona rolled her eyes. It was a courtesy; she knew he was strong and was very confident in that fact.
Sigren drew his sword and lightly stroked Fiona’s hair one last time.
“If you’re really worried, give me a kiss,” Sigren whispered softly in Fiona’s ear, a suggestion meant to cheer her up. Read the translation only on itsladygrey.com.
“….”
‘He’s enjoying himself these days, isn’t he?’
Eventually, Fiona slapped Sigren on the shoulder and shouted sulkily,
“Hurry up and come back quickly!”
